Flapping Terror: The Website that Gets Dangerous

/ / About the Webmistress \ \

So, you wanna know about little ol' me? Okay! Let's take a take a look at the woman behind Flapping Terror, shall we? If you have any questions you want answered, e-mail me!

What's your full name?

Like heck I'm gonna tell you! Obviously, my first name is Melissa. I usually put "M." or "E.M." after my name around the internet. "E.M." is short for "Evil Mastermind." Okay, not really, but that's all the info you're getting out of me.

How old are you?

There are two things you should never ask a woman: her weight, and her age. All I'll tell you is that my birthday is June 19th. I'm a Gemini! (You'll likely get a feel for how old I am in later questions.)

How much do you weigh?

HEY! WHAT DID I JUST SAY?! Next question!

Do you like shows other than Darkwing Duck?

Yes, I do. I mostly watch cartoons, though. I find them to be a lot more interesting than live-action shows. I grew up in the 90's, so I was exposed to a LOT of cool cartoons growing up. I watched the Disney Afternoon, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Fox Kids, the Disney Channel... they all had wonderful programs. They've made me want to get into the animation business someday. Among the many cartoons I loved (and still love) were Animaniacs, Pinky and The Brain, CatDog, Ed Edd n' Eddy, classic Rugrats (before Dil showed up), Fairly Oddparents (before Baby Poof was born), Ren and Stimpy (the Spumco episodes), Bobby's World, Eek the Cat, Peter Pan and The Pirates, Rescue Rangers, TaleSpin, Bonkers, Gargoyles, DuckTales, Quack Pack, AAAAHH!! Real Monsters... I could honestly go on. There are a select few shows I like these days too, but I'm afraid I can't list them all.

Don't you like any live-action shows?

Very, very few. I watched quite a few of them in the 90's, like the Golden Girls (was that late 80's or early 90's? I forget), Roseanne, Home Improvement, Full House, Family Matters, etc. Nowadays, I'm not not really into the same stuff as everyone else (especially when it comes to reality shows. Dear god, I hate those!). Thing is, I see live-action shows as the same recycled crap over and over and over. I prefer cartoons over them because, even if some things are being recycled, the possibilities are endless as to how you utilize different elements. Every cartoon universe has its own rules about how physics work, how character stereotypes look and are portrayed, etc. What's possible in their world isn't always possible in ours. But I digress... I do like some live-action shows days from recent years, such as House M.D., Law and Order and all its spin-offs, Cold Case, Boston Legal, and other shows similar to them. However, I haven't watched every last episode of these shows, so if you try to get into an in-depth conversation about them with me, it's likely you're going to be doing most of the talking.

Do you like anime?

Some. I used to watch the Pokémon series in my early teens, and before that I watched Sailor Moon and DragonBall Z. Later on, I got interested in Revolutionary Girl Utena (I have yet to see all the episodes), and somewhat recently I managed to watch every episode of the Ebichu series (don't watch that if you're under 18!). I've also watched some anime movies like Kiki's Delivery Service, Akira, and Catnapped. (No, I haven't watched Totoro or Princess Mononoke or any of the other classics... I feel so bad!) I've developed interests in a few other movies and series, but I haven't pursued them much further than an episode or two. Anime is good, but I prefer Western-style animation.

What are your favorite movies?

Too many to mention, but most of them are animated. I also enjoy horror films and monster movies.

Do you play video games?

Yup! I play Super Mario Bros., Pokémon, the Wario series, the Yoshi series, Crash Bandicoot, Banjo-Kazooie, Katamari Damacy, and a little bit of Sonic. There are a few others I enjoy too, but I love Mario and Pokémon the most. I've spent over 300 hours on Pokémon Pearl alone! I'm pretty sure I have at least twenty Mario games too, including spin-offs.

What are your hobbies?

Reading fiction, writing fiction (mostly fanfiction) and poetry, drawing cartoons (I do a lot of fan art), and watching cartoons.

What kind of music do you like? Who are your favorite singers? What are your favorite bands?

I like a lot of different genres, but my favorite one is Classic Rock. I also happen to enjoy showtunes, opera, and video game soundtracks. I have so many favorite singers and bands that it's ridiculous, so I can't name just one or two! As I write this, my favorite singer right now is Lady Gaga. Oh yeah, I'm one of her little monsters!

Are you single?

Yes, and loving it, thank you very much.

What's your family like?

I won't go into much detail, but I will say this: it's big, and it's full of people I love (even if half of them are crazy).

You sound like a geek. Do you have any friends?

Yes. I have some casual friends, (whom I either met during my teenage years or initially met online), plus I have two best friends whom I treasure and wouldn't trade for anything in all the world!

Who are your favorite Darkwing Duck characters?

Drake/Darkwing, Gosalyn, Launchpad, Honker, and the Fearsome Five.

Since you like the Fearsome Five, who's your favorite member?

Let's just say it isn't Negaduck. I like him, don't get me wrong, but I think I like the rest of the Five on their own the most. (Just don't tell Negaduck I said that, or he'll sic his dobermans on me.)

That's it for now! Be sure to come back soon. I'll be adding more to this page as time goes on!
